Creating the NC data:
For manufacturing the designed rolls by a CNC-lathe, there are three different ways dependent on the existing equipment:
  • NC-Code: The contour of the rolls is stored in form of G01 and G02/G03 machine commands (DIN 66025). After transferring to the machine control the program can be completed and simulated.
  • DXF: The drawing of the rolls is stored in DXF-format with polylines. After transferring to an NC programming system the machine program can be created.
  • Corner points: The print protocol of the roll corner points (width, diameter and radius) is very useful for manual programming older machines without interface capabilities.
